Ben Franklin said, "Drive thy business, or it will drive thee." (He was a huge proponent of self-promotion.)

I have long had a tentative relationship with self-promotion. It makes me feel a bit uncomfortable and, seemingly, puts at odds my desire for humility and my pride of craft.

Four years now I have been a full-time, professional dancer, teacher, and entertainer. In that time I have grown my 'business' mostly through word of mouth and personal relationships. Now, finally, I feel that the time is right to expand into the world of the web. I'm not sure how much business this website will create. Either way, I am ready to drive my business instead of it driving me.
