I know I'm no good at blogging. That is apparent by the fact that my last post was late in August 2011. Since then I've been very busy. I teach, perform, sing, organize Fleur de Lindy, and/or practice drums every day of the week. My old boss at the home appraisal company in Los Angeles, David, told me, "you can either work 40 hours a week for someone else or 80 hours a week for yourself." That was some of the best advice I've ever had. I'm pretty sure I put in more than 80...

In October 2011, I started playing the high hat/washboard/bass drum combo with two of my good friends in New Orleans; they call themselves grandaddy Slank! (video 1 & video 2) Nate Coleman and Michelle Cunningham, beyond being two of the first people I met after moving to New Orleans, are both really talented.

I am also singing and dancing every Friday and Saturday with The Speakeasy Trio at Melange & The Speakeasy Bar on Frenchmen and Chartres...except the next two Fridays and Saturday because I'll be on tour with Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns, dancing with Amy Johnson in London and Glasgow.

I said that there would be some changes made in 2012, and, indeed, there has been.
